Northside media's top picks of the week

February 16, 2019

This week we've seen many brand new releases, so we at Northside have put together just a few of our favourite releases from the week.

Caideonline - North ft Simsimsosa

Firstly, Sheffield's own Caideonline is representing the ends with brand new single 'North'. The track is self produced and features rapper Simsimsosa . The video is set to be released very soon and i definitely recommend listening to this one. We can anticipate a lot more from Caide as he begins to grow as an artist, producer and creative.

The track is available to download and stream here: https://song.link/i/1452945541

Unknown T X Crazy Cousinz -  Throwback

Unknown T returns with this wavey Throwback banger featuring uk funky pioneers Crazy Cousinz. The track samples wifey riddim, an old school track with a huge influence on the rap/grime scene. We first heard a snippet of this in the rappers fire in the booth which had fans demanding a full version. This nostalgic track has listeners reminiscing of the younger and simpler times.

Yung Fume x Yung Tory - Yeah yeah

The ultimate uk vs usa duo collaborate for track 'Yeah yeah' and it doesn't disappoint. The visuals were released just the other day. This wavey track unites melodic vocals with a trappy beat to create the perfect balance of British and American styles.

CONXEPT - meant to be

North West London's  CONXEPT linked up with Birmingham producer Triple B to pattern this new release 'Meant to Be'. The production features a funky beat enhanced by live instruments, and is a great introduction to a fresh new artist.

Deno - First days (Cadet Tribute)

After the tragic death of the well known and loved rapper Cadet, the UK was taken by surprise. Deno had performed on multiple tracks with Cadet and has considered him a mentor aswell as a friend. This heartfelt track is a touching tribute to the rapper and therefore must be recognised in our top picks.

Offset - Red room

Offset switches it up with this melodic and reflective new single. The single talks about the trials the rapper has faced throughout life including growing up without a father, missing his Grandma, loosing friends and even opens up about the distressing crash which nearly killed him. The track is accompanied by some very cinematic visuals which also show the crash.
