After months of protests from Sheffield residents, Michael Gove has backed the cause to stop the tree felling across the city and demanded an immediate end to the matter.
A letter has been sent out to council leader Julie Dore and chief executive John Mothersole highlighting the damage this could cause to the steel city and the effect it will have on future generations.
Sheffield is known for being one of the greenest cities in Europe and its trees are a valued part of residents lives. The tree felling that has been happening has caused much disruption and has obviously angered many people.
Hopefully the council will take the protests seriously and put an end to Sheffield's tree feeling for good.
